Evan Alsop | LIVE!

Evan Alsop is a singer songwriter from the Lake Champlain Islands of Vermont. He released his debut EP titled Little Barn Songs in 2018. Currently he is finishing up his first full length album to be released in 2023.

Hailing from an old farm in northern Vermont, Evan has always been drawn inward by the wild solitude of nature. Taking inspiration from the ever changing seasonal variations of his outer environment, his songs reflect his own seeking nature; which like the seasons often end up right where they began. But like it is with all natural cycles, his songs contain time worn journeys of faith, fortitude, strife, wonder and always love sheltered between the notes.

After the death of a close family member, he experienced a pivotal eureka moment and dropped out of the University of Vermont in pursuit of a life in music. Working as a deckhand at a year round ferry crossing, he wrote songs and began performing locally around northern Vermont. All the while, he began saving for a move to Nashville Tennessee where he had relatives. Once making it to the Music City, he was able to record his debut EP titled ‘Little Barn Songs’ which was released in 2018.

During the course of his time in Nashville, he developed a severe autoimmune condition which resulted in multi-week hospital stays, followed by a very lengthy recovery. His illness strongly ‘suggested’ him into a period of deep solitude and reflection. Seemingly, being left with no other options, he found himself delving headfirst into his subconscious, esoteric teachings of all kinds, dark and fantastical rabbit holes, all the way to confronting his own inner shadow.

Emerging with good health, new songs, and a fresh 'ego realignment,' Evan’s continued to craft songs which will culminate in his first full length album, set for release in 2023.
